Volkswagen not changing Gear

Volkswagen reason for gearbox control unit failure
Volkswagen VW transmission control unit

One of our valued customers was having an issue with their gearbox. The customer visited us at our shop in Rayleigh Essex with his beloved Volkswagen Passat and explained it was not changing gear.

Following a detailed diagnostic process it was discovered that communication with the Gearbox control unit had failed.

On further investigation the carpets were removed to find that the car had suffered water ingress to the transmission control unit. On opening the unit up it was obvious that the unit had mould forming on the circuit board requiring a new unit.

Unfortunately Volkswagen do not make the boards anymore and we assisted the customer in sourcing a replacement. We then fitted the new part and got the client back on the road.

If you have a problem, strange noise or unknown issue with your Volkswagen, Mercedes or BMW do not hesitate to contact our skilled technicians who can book a diagnostic session for you and go that extra mile.
